What’s new in September

September 29th, 2009 by

Alright, if you follow us on Twitter you probably stay pretty up to date on the latest improvements we’re making to Music Teacher’s Helper. But it’s still nice to see a list of everything that’s been done recently, right here, isn’t it? Take a look at what we’ve been working on this month.

  • New Feature: Email History Search! You can now see a history of all the e-mails you’ve sent via MTH, and search through them.
  • New Feature: Contact List Report can now export former students.
  • New Feature: Student List now shows the alternate phone number if no home phone number was entered.
  • New Feature: Invoice history sent date now adjusted according to time zone.
  • New Feature: Added date of last lesson to Daily Summary report, and made it show the last lesson with notes, rather than just the last lesson (regardless of notes). But we had several complaints about it, so switched it back to how it was before…Sorry for the confusion. At least we listen, right?

Latest Bug Fixes

  • New BugFix: Exporting payments list to CSV now has column headers lined up properly.
  • New BugFix: Student registration form ‘username’ field now has the same requirements as the student profile. (This fix caused another bug that wouldn’t let you delete a username or password for a student, but we fixed that, too).
  • New BugFix: Apostrophes will no longer have slashes in front of them when you save new calendar categories and locations.
  • New BugFix: When editing a reconciled event to create new events in the future (such as when you’re extending the schedule into the next term), the new events will now be unreconciled. Before, they were keeping the same reconcile status as the event that was edited.
  • New BugFix: Students of teachers who have cancelled their accounts will no longer receive automatic invoices.
  • New BugFix: Lessons cancelled in advance by students, parents or teachers now keep their charge properly. This means that even though it’s cancelled, it will still charge the student unless you issue a credit or change the cost for that lesson.

We’ve also been making a lot of improvements lately to our sister product, Studio Helper. If you run a studio with multiple teachers, you may want to check it out.
