The author is spot on! We offer smooth jazz backing tracks and in response to numerous requests, have expanded our offerings to include sheet music. We are looking for transcribers to partner with us for smooth jazz sheet music for our clients to accompany the backing tracks we offer. There's traditional jazz sheet music out there, but very little "smooth jazz" sheet music for those aspiring musicians. As the post from 10-23-09 states, it's a great way to earn extra money and keep your skills up. Let us know if you are interested in working with us.

I had never thought of this before and I am intrigued. I am a music teacher and would love to explore this further as a means of supplemental income. My county provided a copy of Sibelius for all music staff and a workshop for the program as well. I feel like I could do well with transcription. Not only could it make extra money, it will keep ear training skills sharp and test my music theory knowledge.

I do transcribing too, and not only does it earn me extra money, it also hones my hearing and listening skills...and with a program like Sibelius, you can even record in in real time and then do your edits.
