Personalize Your Music Teaching Website With Favorite Quotes

One of the best ways to capture the attention of someone coming to your music teaching website is with a musical quote. Fortunately, most of the website templates that are available with Music Teacher’s Helper come already pre-loaded with one.

However, you can customize your website to reflect your philosophy and agenda as a music educator by adding a quote of your own choice. After you’ve logged in and are at your studio dashboard, go through the following dropdown menus to change your website’s default quote:

Home —> My Studio Website —> Website Preferences

On the Website Preferences page just below the the name and address boxes for your studio, there is a Favorite Quote area. Just pop in the quote of your choice, the author, press Save, and your website will reflect the change. Take a look at my own teaching website for an example of a customized musical quote in the wild.

Not sure which musical quote to put up? Here are links to some musical quote pages with plenty of selection to choose from:

You can even rotate your quotes from time to time to keep your website’s visual appeal interesting to those who visit it regularly (ie. your students and their parents, hopefully). Remember to choose quotes wisely, as this small tweak can make a huge difference in the first few seconds that a prospective student or parent visits your website and digests the initial impression of what you have to offer.

“All music is folk music. I ain’t never heard no horse sing.” –Louis Armstrong

  6. Timely advice, given today's students' penchant for pithy, focused sayings (Think Twitter).

The sayings pack twice the punch when they are thematically-linked with the material to follow--a preface of sorts.
