Hello music teachers! Here is the list of our latest updates to Music Teacher’s Helper. Thank you all for your suggestions and feedback. Music Teacher’s Helper wouldn’t be what it is without you!
- Changed “Students Owing” report to “Families Owing” for a more accurate description
- Fixed a bug in the new email system that was making attachments not send.
- Put 500kb size restriction on logo files for uploading. Please shrink your logos before uploading.
- Password reminder emails requested by students and parents will now contain a link to the teacher’s studio website
- Improved the “Contact Us” page so it shows related knowledgebase articles as you type your message.
- Added knowledgebase search to main support page
- Event location now shows up on the list of events on the student and parent home pages when they login.
- Added .rtf to the list of allowed file extensions for the File Area
- Exporting to Excel now exports to a CSV file, which can be opened by Excel. This will allow for better accuracy when exporting files. This includes exporting from any list in Music Teacher’s Helper, as well as exporting calendar events.
- Export to Excel will now warn Internet Explorer users to click “Save” rather than “open” or “find” when exporting the file so it will save properly. (Other browsers work either way).
- Changed column order of Families Owing report to show family’s name first.
- Fixed bug where payments, fees, and lessons were sometimes popping up behind the main window, or not opening at all.
- Fixed typo of the word “equal” on search options
- New Report: Student Contact List Report. This can be used to print or generate a student contact list, birthday list, or reports showing different information about your students.
- Fixed bug where teacher’s email address showed up in the “Reply To” field multiple times.
- Updated the “Upcoming Events” list on that shows on the home page after you login, to show no time (blank) if the event is an all day event. Before it was sometimes showing as 12:00 (midnight)

Thanks for all the updates. You do a great job. We are disappointed that you didn’t fix the “fees” so they could be designated as recurring if needed though. We have to keep adding some of the same fees every month.
@Notable. Yes, adding the option for recurring fees is on our to-do list. I can’t promise when we’ll get it in, as there are some other things higher in priority, but we will do it eventually. Thank you for your feedback.
