I am posting this article as we cross market with them, and their product, which I reviewed for this publication. The Notebusters Music Workbook is a great tool for teaching sight-reading and improving the student’s skill in this area.

NOTEBUSTERS is a music workbook designed to increase sight-reading skills. The workbook was created
by an experienced music teacher and musician who was unsatisfied with the lack of note reading
practice material in typical music theory books. Solidifying a foundation in note reading increases
students’ ability to grasp more complicated musical concepts, and reduces frustration further down the
road.

NOTEBUSTERS contains 240 one-minute exercises covering over 30 notes on both staves. The workbook
uses a proven learning method typically employed by math teachers: NOTEBUSTERS improves
memorization and sight-reading skills through randomization, repetition, and timed-exercises. Students
are also challenged to play the completed exercises on their instrument of choice in order to increase
physical memory retention.

NOTBUSTERS is broken into six sections that cover an increasing range of notes as the student
progresses. NOTEBUSTERS exercises are fun, simple, and quick, so kids of all ages (and attention spans)
can benefit. There is also an easy to track scoring system that encourages self-improvement.

Music teachers interested in supplementing their lesson plans with systemic practice may purchase
NOTEBUSTERS from its publisher at steep discounts through the end of the year (40% off retail). Contact
the publisher at orders@notebusters.net to purchase copies or visit the website www.notebusters.net
to view sample exercises and learn more about the workbook.
