It was fun. I like them both, and of course there are lots of other popular tunes that would work the same way, like Mary Had a Little Lamb as a 6/8 (jig). I do the same little exerciseo with "Joy to the World." I just play a descending major scale in straight quarters. Nobody recognizes it. I insist that I "played all the notes right" and that I'm sure they know the tune. Then, I play it correctly. "Oh! It's Joy to the World!" Love this post and agree completely.
