Music Teacher's Helper - Your music studio manager

Multiple email addresses, and other improvements

Thu February 14th, 2008 by Brandon Pearce (Support)

Here is the monthly list of the improvements we’ve made to Music Teacher’s Helper since January 14, 2008.

- Send to multiple email addresses per person. This feature has been requested so frequently, I know many of you will be happy about this. Some families have situations where there is a divorce, or even where each parent has their own email address they both want email reminders and invoices. Now Music Teacher’s Helper will allow you to enter multiple email addresses for a parent. In the Email field in the student (or parent) profile, just separate the email addresses with a semicolon. For example: john@google.com; jane@google.com. Then when email reminders, or invoices, or any email is sent to that person, the message will go to both addresses.

- Fixed recent bug with the Reconcile All page where it wasn’t showing the lesson cost amount for older lessons. Now it will show the lesson cost set in the student’s profile unless it has been overridden in the calendar.

- Fixed bug when creating repeating events where it wasn’t adding in the last event in the repeat series. This bug was present for about 2 weeks.

- Fixed lesson reminder email checkboxes - they weren’t always staying unchecked if you unchecked the boxes.

- Lesson note emails that are sent to students and parents after reconciling, now treat new lines (ie. “Enter”) as new lines, rather that putting your message all on the same line.

- Now you can upload m4a files to the file area.

- Daily Summary report now shows if student has credit paid in advance, as well as amount due. See this post for details.

  1. is it possible to add a student's current grade to the student data or is it already there and i don't see it?

  2. @polly - You can enter the student's school and/or skill level. Some teachers like to put grade in for school or skill level, but since it's something you'd have to go in and change every year to keep up to date, it might be worth just putting it in the notes.
