There are several teachers who, when they sign up for Music Teacher’s Helper, already have their own studio website, or at least own the domain name for their website. And because Music Teacher’s Helper gives them their own studio website, teachers are often faced with a choice of whether to use one or the other, or both. Take a look at our FAQ for some ways to help make the decision on which website to use:

If you decide to get rid of your old website, but you’d like to keep your domain name (ie. www.yourname.com), you can redirect it to your Music Teacher’s Helper studio website through your domain registrar (the place where you bought your domain name).
Just remember that if you are redirecting to your studio website, make sure that you turn domain masking “off”, so that when your students type “www.yourname.com” the url actually changes to “http://[your-studio].musicteachershelper.com”. If www.yourname.com is still in the address bar after they reach your Music Teacher’s Helper studio website, then it may cause problems when students try to login, since domain masking uses frames and doesn’t actually send them to the new website, it just “masks” the url, so the secure certificate and sessions don’t work like they should (meaning you may not be able to login). If your domain is registered through GoDaddy, for example, this is as simple as checking a checkbox. You may want to contact your register to make sure domain masking isn’t enabled by default.
