About Christine Schumann

Christine Schumann

Christine Schumann teaches composition, piano, voice and keyboards out of her private studios in Northern Colorado. She received her education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Colorado State University, Ft. Collins. She has taught music privately for almost 40 years, at first concentrating on classical studies in piano and bassoon, and then branching out in the areas of composition, jazz, improvisation and commercial music styles.

Christine is particularly interested in helping musicians develop tools that will prepare them for musical careers in today's world (composing, studio recording, leading worship, playing or singing in a band, etc.)

She has published fun, innovative improv and composition materials to help her colleagues inspire music creativity in their studios. These can be found at www.PiacerePress.com.

Christine's own compositions include: Emerald Memories (piano duet), Jazzy Bones (flute and piano duet) and Selections from Experiencing the Passion (musical soundtrack).
